Provide technical assistance to staff clinicians, residents, professional assistants and students related to large animal surgery. Provide clinical instruction to veterinary and veterinary technology students. Monitor inventory of supplies/equipment and order when necessary.
Qualifications Required:
* Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program
(Students completing their degree at the end of the current semester may apply and be considered for this vacancy; however, degree must be completed prior to start of employment.)
* Candidates must be registered in Indiana within six months
* Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
* Ability to read and write English
* Ability to lift and carry 25 to 50 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionally
Additional Information:
* A minimum of two months per year of night shift duty is required with this position.
* Will be required to participate in rotation for after-hour on-call emergencies and holiday coverage
* Occasional overtime may be required
* A check of criminal conviction records will be made for employment in this position.
* FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible For Overtime)
* Retirement Eligibility: PERF Contributions Immediately
