Teaching responsibilities: The teaching responsibilities for this position include: 1) Develop and teach innovative courses related to livestock evaluation; 2) Coach the NDSU Livestock Evaluation Team; 3) Teach additional courses consistent with the successful applicant’s expertise and departmental needs; 4) Advise undergraduate students and student organizations; and 5) Provide leadership for departmental undergraduate recruiting efforts. GENERAL DUTIES:Performs a complex range of activities required for the care and management of animals in a municipal zoo collection including maintaining a safe, healthy, clean, and attractive living environment. Observes, interprets, and documents animal behaviors, health status, and food consumption. Maintains all records required by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA). Suggests policy changes

Must be proficient in non-AWA regulated species, have experience in or cross-trained in AWA regulated and non-regulated species with willingness to work with all species of animals including non-human primates. Must be building cross-trained if hierarchical promotion. Must have the ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities. Works well with others in a team.
