To supervise, assign, and review the work of animal control employees and oversee the operations of the City’s animal shelter. Performs a variety of services involved in the enforcement of State and local animal control laws.

Experience: 3 – 5 years increasingly responsible experience in Animal Control. 1 – 3 years of supervisory experience.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. Associates degree preferred.

Applicant must successfully pass an indepth background investigation, polygraph examination, pre-employment physical, and drug screen. Must have a valid driver’s license with a favorable driving record.

Duties: Manage field services program and animal shelter operations; Coach/lead, motivate, develop and evaluate assigned personnel; Develop and oversee an annual budget of approximately $325,000; Manage IT programs as they relate to animal control; Knowledge and compliance with all federal, state, county, and city laws and ordinances regarding animal control, rabies control, and animal shelters; Develop and implement City ordinances and policies as related to animal control.
